Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil ? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?
– 2 Corinthians 6:14-15

As a kid I was always reminded not to hang out with certain people growing up. Ever heard of the saying, you are who you associate with? Or my favorite, “guilty by association?” Well, I would always try to make friends with the right people, yet, I always found it hard to identify who the right people really where and it always would seem that I chose the right person, yet, it was only a matter of time before we both landed in detention.

In 2 Corinthians 6:15 we find Paul reminding his friends to cleanse their humanly bodies from temptation and idolatry when we read, “What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil ? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?” Paul was warning his friends in Corinthians that they needed to make a choice. Live for God or, become His enemy. Devote your life to the Lord or perish.

In life, we make tough decisions everyday for either, good or bad. Do I cut this person off and possibly cause a terrible accident or do I let him go in front of me? Do I open my book to find the correct answer during my closed book exam or should I have studied a little more instead? Do I remain faithful to deceit and lies or should I break free from the bondage?

A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with a good friend and brother from my church New Life Fellowship. We where talking about choice’s and he said something to me that really struck a chord deep in my heart. He told me that while he was having His alone time with the Lord, the Lord had asked him a question. He said the Lord had asked, “Do you know who’s will is stronger than Mine?” My friend told me that he  was taking back and pondered at the question and then asked the Lord, “Who’s will can be strong than Yours Lord?” He said, the Lord answered, “Yours.”

You see, God gives all of us the choice, everyday. We have the freedom to chose between what is right and what is wrong. It may sound strange that our will can be stronger than the Lord’s, but I want you to really think about it. Think of it this way. If  God had the ultimate willpower over us, why then do we have the terrible crimes that we have today? Why do we have people murdering each other, raping each other, child abuse and all the other terrible crimes we have today?

We all have the power and the to choice between good and evil? We all have a choice, everyday. What choice will you make. What side will you choose to be on? I know the answer seems to be obvious to the question, but honestly ask yourself this and remember; You maybe saved… Born again… Baptized in Jesus Christ. But, I want to remind you, that this does not mean you can’t fall from salvation. We all have a choice to make. We all have the option to choose our destiny. What choice will you make?

God Bless,
Brother Jonathan
