What’s in Your Closet?

God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor; not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

One of my younger sisters a few months ago told my about one of her former class mates that was pregnant at the age of 13. She told me that her 17 year old boyfriend accidently got her pregnant . . .  I cannot begin to tell you what thoughts where going through my mind.  All I could feel was over-whelming sadness for the situation. But, I was heartbroken to find out that this girl had an abortion to boot. Sadly, this girl went to Catholic School too. I am not implying anything or passing judgement of the Catholic faith but, it is sad to know where she came from and how wrong choices led to really bad decision’s.

The same goes for us. I know that when you or I have been tempted to do something and the temptation is strong… It’s hard to for us to break that path of lust. I know some of us are suffering from certain lustfull desires that we’d rather not talk about. The lust can be something as simple as lusting after chocolate or cupcakes, but it also can be lusting after pornorgraphy, sex or drugs and alcohol. Lust and evil sinfull desires can destroy us from the inside out and can destroy our relationship with our Lord too. How can the Lord dwelle in a temple filled with darkness?

Even our strongest and most faithfull Bible aged prophets and deciples where haunted by lust of somesort. Noah and drunkeness. Abraham and lieing about his wife. Moses and pride… Eli and undisciplined wicked sons… David and adultery… Solomon and 300 wifes (yes I know) and 700 concubines… Elijah ran from Jezebel… Peter denied the Lord… Thomas and doubt and Paul paid a vow in the Temple… The list goes on and on and on.

What I am trying to say is, we all have our own little secret’s we’d rather not share or talk about. We all have that one thing that constantly nips at our heals to do it again and again and again. We all are in desperate need of salvation. Oh my brothers and sisters pray with me that we all can get a swifer sweeper and finally, once and for all clean, out our closests of lust and become the pure vessels of light. We all must confess all our sins to our Lord and come clean with ourselves because once we forgive ourselves, we then we can begin the healing process of life start to become great Chistain children on God once more. Remember this, it is never too late to for salvation.  It is never to late to make yourselves right with our Lord again. Jesus died for you and I to have salvation; we are already forgiven and it is time for us to start forgiving ourselves because nothing you or I can do will change the past, we must learn from it and move on with purity of heart, sounds mind and a faithful trust in our God.
