Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil ? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?
2 Corinthians 6:14-15

As a kid I was always reminded not to hang out with certain people growing up. Ever heard of the saying, you are who you associate with, or my favorite… “guilty by association”? Well, as a kid I would always try to make the friends with the right people but, I always found it hard in who “the right people” really were. It always seemed I chose the right person but, it was only a matter of time before we both landed in detention.

In 2 Corinthians 6:15 we find Paul reminding his friends to cleanse their humanly bodies from temptation and idolatry when we read, “What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever?” Paul was warning his friends in Corinthians that they needed to make a choice. Live for God… Or, become His enemy. Devote your life to the Lord or perish.

In life, we make tough decisions everyday for either, good or bad. Do I cut this person off and possibly cause a terrible accident or do I let him go in front of me. Do I open my book to find the correct answer during my closed book exam or should I have studied a little more instead. Do I remain faithful to deceit and lies or should I break free from bondage instead. Do I continue a friendship for false reasons or should I listen to my heart and follow God. Do I follow man or do I follow God? Life’s decisions can be very tough and life changing, but we must be able to decide between what is easy and what is right.

God gives all of us choices everyday to become closer or farther away from Him. God knows what we will choose before we make up our minds to do it. Remember that… God knows your decision before you knew you had a choice to make. And, and my brothers and sisters… The Lord will provide the opportunity for a way out. God will provide distractions to our poor choices to try to detour us, we have to look for the signs and above all, be open for change. Change is good for the right reasons.

God Bless,
