Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.
2 Timothy 4:1

A lot of people in today’s world are afraid of fellowshipping the word of God because they fear of not being “Politically Correct” or they’re even afraid of what others might think of them. Remember to never be ashamed or afraid of what other’s might think of you for being a good servant of the Lord. If you are ashamed of God or to tell people about God, how do you think God will feel about you?  The Apostle Mark warns us in Mark 8:38, “If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Because we are different from the rest of the world, we do not “fit in.” And because we do not fit in, 2 Timothy 4:3 reminds us, “But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.” (Bold was added)

Friends might laugh, family might doubt but, know that even though they might laugh at what you might say. Remember, what you say will touch them enough for them to respond to you. It may not the response you hoped for, but just them responding is enough to plant the seed. And that seed you plant can blossom into a something wonderful.

Look at the inspiring stories of Saul who was very far from God. Acts 9:1 even tells us that Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. But, as you know the Lord converted Saul to not only a great believer but he eventually became the Apostle Paul. As Titus 2:11-12 says, “For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God.”

Don’t be afraid to share any good news you know about the bible. You never know what awesome affects the word can do unless you are willing to share it. Regardless of how much or how little you think you might know.
