God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. Then each of you will control his own body and live in holiness and honor; not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

One of my younger sisters had told my about one of her former class mates that was pregnant at the age of 13. She told me that her 17-year-old boyfriend accidentally got her pregnant . . . And I cannot begin to tell you what thoughts where going through my mind. All I could feel was over-whelming sadness for the situation. But, I was heartbroken to find out that this girl had an abortion to boot. Sadly, this girl went to Catholic School too. I am not implying anything or passing judgement of the Catholic faith but, it is sad to know where she came from and how poor choices led to a terrible one.

The same goes for us. I know that when you or I have been tempted to do something and the temptation is strong… It’s hard to for us to break that path of lust. I know some of us are suffering from certain lustful desires that we’d rather not talk about. It can be as simple as lusting after chocolate or cupcakes… but, it also can be lusting after pornography or sex or drugs and alcohol. Oh my brothers and sisters, lust and evil sinful desires can destroy us from the inside out and can destroy our relationship with our Lord.

Even our strongest and most faithful Bible aged prophets and disciples where haunted by lust of some sort. Noah and drunkenness, Abraham with lieing about his wife, Moses and pride, Eli and undisciplined wicked sons, David and adultery, Solomon and 300 wifes (yes I know) and 700 concubines, Elijah ran from Jezebel, Peter denied the Lord, Thomas and doubt and Paul paid a vow in the Temple… The list goes on and on.

What I am saying is, we all have our own little secret’s that we’d rather not share or even talk about. We all have that one thing, that is constantly nipping at our heals to do it again and again and again. We all are in desperate need of salvation. So, pray with me that we all can get a swiffer sweeper and finally once and for all, clean out our closet’s of lust and become the pure vessels of light again.

May we all confess our sins to our Lord and come clean with, ourselves… Once we forgive ourself’s… Then we can begin the healing process of life and be great Christian children on God once again. Remember it is never too late to be right with our Lord. Remember, Jesus died for you and I to have salvation; we are already forgiven and it is time for us to start forgiving ourself’s.
